Had a very relaxing and cold holiday in the mountains last weekend. I went with Mish and a bunch of her mates.
Felt a bit old, most of those guys are early 20s.
Felt a bit too fucking cold
Felt a bit seedy - do I drink way too much normally? Than "normal"?
.. could I be drinking like, way too much?
When we got to the place we passed a bunch of SES guys working on reconnecting the power. The house was a way down a skinny dirt track alongside a cliff, in what was basically thick bush. A single powerline must supply the area with it's juice, and during the storms a tree came down disconnecting the power.
Nobody knew how to make a fire. NFI, burning tissues under large chunks of wood and crap like that. I've lit a few fires in Tassie so the Steve Irvin jokes ran for a while until everybody got warm. These city folk... ;-D
It was really nice to get away from the city though, breath some air and see some stars. Hang out with some of the yoof har har.
We've had huge storms in this part of the world lately, with flooding and all that pretty close to Sydney. I had to skip work last Friday, it was that bad :-)
But the waves at Bondi the next day were spectacularly huge. Cheers to those crazy surfers down there that day... if only I had have had my camera that day!
In bike related news I'm getting 23.5km per litre. Not fuggin bad. And that's not quite riding like a hoon, just not holding back. Reckon I could get more if times were tough and I was easier on the throttle. As it is, petrol is costing $1.5 a litre last time I filled up. Glad I'm not driving!
