It constantly amazes me how much quality open source software is coming out. These days it's all over the place and awesome projects are just popping up all over the woodwork.
This morning I found about, installed, and got running a full virtualisation suite called VirtualBox. Took about 10 minutes to install thanks to apt-get. I have Windows XP running in it (thanks to someone having an already installed image handy). Will be handy when we have to make our stuff work with IE.
Best of all, none of the serial numbers or registration or any of the other bullshit hoops commercial software authors make you jump through. Download and go.
