Practical, real-world application anyone? My NVIDIA graphics card shat itself last weekend. I don't have a receipt because when I bought it I was so excited I ran out of the shop before it could print. The guy in the shop said he could replace it, but not without the receipt.
Being a linux user, the first thing I did after getting back from the shop was to search for the latest NVIDIA drivers for Ubuntu.
Knowing this, it was fairly straight forward to search for the time when I was looking for Ubuntu NVIDIA drivers. It even keeps the time of day, so when I walked back into the store I had exact details of the purchase. They printed me off a receipt and now I'll be getting a replacement card!
